Lebanon Hills Regional Park
Camping, Beach, hiking, horse riding trails, canoe & kayak rentals mountain bike trail. great fun for the whole
family and park access is free.
Campground is open from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, Oct.18 check ahead to be sure if you are camping in
the beginning or end of season date may vary.
Sites in 2009 range from $16.00-$29.00 depending on hookup needs. Nicely secluded within the city of
Eagan, Minnesota, so gas from the Twin Cites is not an issue.
You could see some wildlife, like deer. You could take the kids fishing, view turkeys, hone the photography
and enjoy the sounds of nature.
Now for my highlight of this park. It's the mini multi-lake canoe route nestled in the park. Canoe and Kayaks
are available to rent on a first come first serve basis or you can bring your own out. I took my 3 year old boy
and my Father in-law out with the pop up camper last year. Brought our canoe and spent the day on a one
way canoe trip. We let the wife do her thing until we needed a pickup. We put in at Shultz Lake and it was a
nice experience for us all. The portages are manageable and well maintained and fairly easy to find. The
lakes are not extremely large so it become a great place to take a 6 hour one way multi-lake experience
close to the Twin Cities and a great way to keep in shape, hone your skills and still be close enough to walk
out if things go bad. My little guy still chats about that trip and just had a blast. An A+ park and a pleaser of
the whole family without breaking the budget!
